Takuya Okada es un estudiante de secundaria que debido a su pasado se comporta de forma irresponsable. Un día, descubre que su compañera de clase Mamizu Watarase está hospitalizada porque sufre la enfermedad de luminiscencia, la cual hace que su cuerpo brille levemente cuando está expuesta a la luz de la luna, y su resplandor se vuelve más fuerte a medida que su muerte se acerca. Tras descubrir que no le queda mucho tiempo de vida, decide ayudarla a cumplir todos sus deseos y todas las cosas que le quedan por hacer antes de que sea demasiado tarde. Mamizu no lo sabe, pero Takuya está profundamente enamorado de ella. Cada vez estarán mas unidos por la promesa que hicieron. No obstante, el terrible final se acerca.

Basada en un manga escrito por Tatsuhiko Yamagami, la historia se desarrolla en una antigua ciudad portuaria de Uobuka, donde 6 ex delincuentes fueron enviados por el gobierno, con la intención de volver a socializarlos. The Tanita Corporation has developed the world's first body fat measuring device. The company itself also has many overweight employees. Because of this, the company finds it difficult to persuade perspective customers to buy their product. Company President Unosuke Tanida (Masao Kusakari) then orders all of his employees to go on diet. Vice President Konosuke (Kenta Hamano) hires nutritionist Nanako (Yuka) to oversee the project. Employees are to eat twice at a company restaurant, but problems arise in sequential order. With Nanako's magic recipe, employees at the company begins to see results.
