But Slack's men also find him just as the cattle are stampeded through the mine shaft.

Rival telephone crews are in a race to be the first to connect telephone service between Rawlings and Cheynne, Wyoming. However, the foreman of the other crew has his own scheme to win the race, and will stop at nothing--including kidnapping--to accomplish it.
