Momoko (Kyoko Fukada) es una joven solitaria que vive en su propio mundo construido sobre la época rococó francesa y que tiene una visión muy particular de las cosas. Pero su mundo de disfraces y máscaras pronto se ve trastocado por la llegada de Ichigo (Anna Tsuchiya), una gamberra motorizada que, al contrario de ella, prefiere el estilo norteamericano y necesita estar rodeada de gente en todo momento. Para ello se inventa una leyenda urbana que la hará sentir importante y gracias a la cual juntará una pandilla propia con Momoko. A partir de ese momento ambas iniciarán una inseparable amistad que las hará ver el mundo de forma diferente. Adaptación de una novela de Novala Takemoto (autor de las novelas Lolita).
