Faced with a formidable foe who boasts superhuman strength, he once thought about using a foul technique to get through.

La historia narra como el valiente y joven Hols cumple con la última voluntad de su difunto padre, buscar su pueblo, que años atrás fue arrasado por el demonio Grunwald. Sólo la Espada del Sol podrá acabar con el demonio y para ello necesitará la ayuda de los hombres, comprendiendo así Hols la importancia de estar unidos... Primera película dirigida por Isao Takahata, contó con Hayao Miyazaki como máximo responsable de la animación y Toei Douga la estrenó en cines japoneses en 1968, llegando a EEUU durante los años 80 bajo el nombre de "El Pequeño Príncipe Nórdico Valiente" (Little Norse Prince).
