Adaptación a formato live-action de la serie de animación "Jem and The Holograms" en la que, cuando una chica tímida y retraída pasa de causar sensación en el mundo del vídeo underground a ser una superestrella mundial, ella y sus tres hermanas emprenden un viaje único en el que descubren que hay talentos demasiado especiales para ocultarlos. En "Jem y los Hologramas" las hermanas, Jerrica Benton, su hermana biológica Kimber,junto a sus hermanas adoptivas Aja y Shana, intenta dejar atrás el anonimato y convertirse en estrellas de la música, conquistando al público de todo el mundo y dándose cuenta de que, para crear su propio destino, basta con encontrar su voz.
