Roberto Moreira
Historia
Roberto Moreira is a brazilian filmmaker and screenwriter. He's also a professor at the School of Communication and Arts (ECA) of University of São Paulo.
Moreira was awarded in the 1997 Brasilia Film Festival for the A Starry Sky screenplay, which he co-wrote with Jean-Claude Bernardet.
His first feature film, Up Against Them All, has won multiple awards, including Best Picture and Best Actress (Sílvia Lourenço) at the Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival; Best Director, Best Actor (Giulio Lopes), Best Production Design and the Critic Prize at the Recife Cinema Festival; and the Silver Firebird at the Hong Kong International Film Festival.

Después de participar en una sesión de hipnosis, Clara (Cléo Pires) entra gradualmente en un estado catatónico que parece incurable con los métodos tradicionales. Ante esto, su hermana gemela, Fernanda (Cléo Pires) descubre una terapia que acaba haciendo que Clara entre en un universo sobrenatural que saca a la luz una trágica y oscura historia del pasado. Tu única posibilidad de volver a la realidad es con la ayuda de Fernanda, quien tendrá que afrontar sus miedos e ir más allá de los límites de la vida.

Marina shares a flat on Avenida Paulista with Suzana, a mysterious transsexual lawyer who begins a relationship with a male colleague who is unaware of her condition. Jay lives a few floors above them. He is a frustrated writer trying to give a meaning to his life by idealizing a stunningly beautiful prostitute, whom he transforms into a sort of muse. Following the frenetic pace of the city, the three "Paulista" characters will experience the euphoria of passion and its downside.
