Paulo ha sido privado de ver a su hijo Mateus de siete años por no pagarle la pensión a su ex mujer. Para conseguir dinero rápido comienza a trabajar como taxista y con el paso de los días irá relacionándose fugazmente con sus pasajeros pero una de ellas, Karina, viajará para quedarse. Su vida se verá afectada tanto por la crisis social que atraviesa el país como por los cambios de su vida cotidiana.
