Un grupo de amigos se reúne en casa de Max y Lucie para celebrar su 43 cumpleaños. Cuando llegan los tres amigos invitados, descubren a Max arrodillado junto al cuerpo de su mujer asesinada. Están seguros de que la policía lo acusará. Todo apunta a él. Sus amigos, convencidos de su inocencia, deciden proporcionarle una coartada.
