Frank, un ladrón de poca monta, recibe un día el encargo de robar una pintura de Matisse. Frank decide efectuar el robo tres días antes de lo previsto para, antes de entregar el cuadro a su comprador, poder pasar así unas pequeñas vacaciones en un remoto lugar de Nueva Inglaterra junto a su novia, Roz. The story does not only captivate through the depiction of manifold human characters, intrigues and sycophancy, but also through the circumstances ruling over the devastated farmstead, sunk in mud and crudeness. One of the best films with an updating tendency has come into being here, rightly being named along the such greats as Kladivo na čarodějnice (Witches' Hammer).

Then the obstinate Asmodeus takes Honza in his sleep to the Institute for Emotional Disorders, where he shows him the ugly sides of love - hysteria, voyeurism, fetishism, suicide attempts...
