This "documentary opera" retraces the events that shook the suburbs of Toulouse at the end of 1998. Caught red-handed stealing a car, young Habib, also known as Pipo, was shot at point-blank range by a police officer. Serious riots ensued, pitting gangs of young people against the police for several days.

En 1997, más de dos décadas después de los hechos que filmara en el legendario documental La Batalla de Chile, el director nacional Patricio Guzmán vuelve a Santiago cámara en mano. Su objetivo es buscar a algunos de los protagonistas de ese documental, a quienes participaron -de una forma u otra- en los hechos relatados. Pero La Memoria Obstinada no es un ejercicio de nostalgia. Now, the 1 hour cut of Michel Parbot’s lost documentary has been found.
