Dos hermanos siguen el camino de las sombras juntos. Este camino les lleva a trabajar para los capos de las drogas, hecho que uno de ellos detesta. Por ello, uno de los dos hermanos abandona esa senda y decide volver de nuevo a una vida digna y ganarse el pan con el sudor de su frente. Aunque sus caminos se han separado, el destino se encargará de reunir de nuevo a los dos hermanos cuando el que aún vive en las sombras comienza a tener graves problemas. La Interpol y el Ejército Tailandés trabajan en una misión conjunta para interceptar la línea de suministro de drogas en el Triángulo de oro. Inspector E.T. (Alex Man) investigates a murder case reported by singer Chu Szu Ting (Shirley Lui). The suspect, plastic factory owner Lu (Michael Tong) testifies and is acquitted. An important clue is later found and killer Lu comes to attack Szu Ting only to be stopped and killed by E.T. and his men. E.T., who has been estranged from his wife, tries different tricks to woo Szu Ting and eventually wins her heart. Her long lost father Chu Hung (Ku Feng), newly discharged from prison, intends to retrieve a hidden loot and tells her of his intention to join her. Szu Ting tells E.T. to probe his background when E.T. is injured and hospitalized. She takes her father to their former residence as ordered, but something there makes her suspicious of his identity. She spots him holding an axe and shouts for help when he is killed by someone sent by E.T. to secretly protect her.

A hot-head cop, a by-the-books cop, and a hitman all vie to take down a drug boss. Meanwhile, a gang of criminals plan to rob an armored truck.

He recruits a team for the task which consists of who's who of the Shaw Brother's action stars (Lo Lieh, Johnny Wang Lung Wei, Wong Yue, Chan Wei Man and comedy relief Nat Chan). However once they arrived for the mission nothing is what it seems with the standard plot-twists and turns as we find out who's the traitor among the group.

The film revolves around the exploits of a detective agency in Hong Kong called Mannix Private Detective Agency. It is headed by private detective Wong Yeuk Sze (Michael Hui) with his emotionally drained assistant Puffy (Ricky Hui). Meanwhile, Lee Kwok Kit (Samuel Hui), a kung fu expert, who works at a Vitasoy plant factory and spends most of the time doing kung fu tricks to impress a girl, ultimately loses his job. Seeking to find another line of work, Lee attempts to joins Wong's detective agency. Despite Lee's impression with his kung fu talent which involves his snatching trick, Wong was not impressed. Then, as it appears that Lee would not get the job, Wong discovers that his wallet was missing and was presumed stolen by one bystander who bumped into them. Lee intercepts him and recovers the wallet, thus impressed Wong to hire him for the job.

Wong Chat is jobless. He is forced to become a burglar. He breaks into Han Siu-yu and her boyfriend Cheung Wai-lim's home, but it is just the time when they return. Wong hides in the closet. He eavesdrops that Han and Cheung are a couple, but Han is forced to become the tycoon Chan Koon-kau's mistress for a living. Suddenly, Chan returns, and Cheung hides into the closet too. Wong and Cheung meet in the closet and become friends. Wong is righteous and promises to help Han to escape from Chan's control. Wong and his neighbour Yeung Oi-lin disguise themselves as a pair of Singaporean rich couple and attend a banquet at Chan's home. They want to steal back the document that Chan threatens Han with. But they also find evidence of Chan's drug trafficking. When Chan find out about the stolen document, he confines Cheung and Han and kidnaps Wong's children. But Wong refuses to surrender. During their confrontation, the cops arrive after being informed by Yeung and arrests Chan on the spot.

When both sides of the family move in with a married couple, chaos reigns.
