Parents from around the world hold a congress to discuss how to deal with their misbehaving children. All parents come together — only one set is missing, the parents of Sylvester, the best boy in the world. The congress decides to go see him so he can lead the other children by example. Sylvester is truly an exceptional child, but his "being good at all times and under all circumstances" somewhat gets out of hand.

The female employees of the poultry-processing factory find relief from their monotonous work in chatting about weddings and marriages. The very young Zdena (Marta Vancurová), too, dreams about a white veil and an entourage of bridesmaids. On her return home from work, she runs into a peculiar man on an abandoned road who pertinaciously offers to read her palm for a few crowns to buy soup. His augury is rather usual - wealth and poverty, suffering and happiness. Then however, he declares that Zdena must marry exactly on 3 November of that year otherwise she will be unhappy.

The Ronov castle has been changed into a hotel, offering stylish facilities to its guests: weddings in the torture chamber, a Black Lancer kidnapping brides, a night's lodging in a family tomb etc. The reformed petty swindler Felix Pacínek (Bohumil Smída) runs the hotel. The business is far from thriving; the place is half-empty, and the jazz band Skeleton, together with their singer Zuzanka (Jaroslava Obermaierová), decide to leave. Nobody in the hotel has any idea that the band is in fact a gang of thieves who have just robbed the Prague State Bank, taking two million crowns from its vaults.

Unas jóvenes obreras viven en una pensión de Zruc, entre ellas Andula. In 1965, during eminent trumpeter Louis Armstrong’s visit to Prague, Jan Spata then a young promising documentary filmmaker, created the report 'Hallo Satchmo'.

A young man tries to enter the building of the Mammoth Cybernetic Supermachines Research Institute again and again but each time the doorkeeper spots him and kicks him out. The youth finally arrives with all his friends and a huge live bear from the circus where he works as an accountant. He is finally allowed in where he explains to the members of the directorate that he wants to work at the Institute, since he graduated in cybernetics and, besides, he has invented a machine for forecasting time of death. When the conniving research manager learns that their director is going to die in two days, he hopes to rise to his position.

A military base. An awkward soldier. A statue of Bach. And suddenly all guns in the area change into music instruments. Great mystery is immediately found by TV station. And soon the military base becomes a stage for huge TV show.

Ante la presión de su padre, Petr, un adolescente, debe comenzar a trabajar en un almacén. Su trabajo es el de vigilar que los clientes no roben mercadería. En una ocasión, durante el trabajo, creyendo haber visto a un cliente robar, pero no estando seguro, sale a perseguirlo por la ciudad, hasta darse cuenta de que está cerca de su casa, por lo que decide no volver al almacén ese día. Petr está mucho más interesado en una joven amiga suya, y prefiere pasar el tiempo con ella.
