Paradise Hills es un internado de lujo donde familias acomodadas mandan a sus hijas para que sean entrenadas y educadas para ser mujeres perfectas. Uma (Emma Roberts) es enviada allí y pronto descubrirá que la residencia oculta un oscuro secreto.

La película sigue a Sara en su viaje al epicentro del lugar donde se piensa que ocurrió uno de los encuentros con extraterrestres más importantes de la historia. Un guarda forestal y un habitante de la zona, acompañarán a la mujer i la ayudarán a superar los peligros que oculta la naturaleza. Así mismo, a pesar de las buenas intenciones, pronto se verán atacados por una criatura que habita las profundidades del bosque, y acabarán refugiándose en los barracones de un campamento militar abandonado.

Un grupo de jóvenes celebran una fiesta en un barco. A lo lejos un pequeño pueblo les observa en silencio. Cuando uno de ellos resulta gravemente herido, deciden acercase al pueblo para buscar ayuda. La reducida población del pueblo no se la brindará. Pronto comenzarán a suceder cosas extrañas y los jóvenes encontrarán la muerte en terribles circunstancias.
