'Sweet Country' es una película inspirada en una historia real sucedida en el interior de Australia en el año 1929. Cuando el aborigen Sam (Hamilton Morris) mata al propietario blanco Harry March (Ewen Leslie) en defensa propia, Sam y su mujer Lizzie (Natassia Gorey-Furber) emprenden la huida. Pero la pareja será perseguida de forma incansable por las autoridades. Un western australiano que se sitúa en la Frontera del Norte en 1920, donde la justicia se tambaleó al disparar un granjero aborigen a un hombre blanco en defensa propia. Le intentan dar caza, y el hombre tratará de emprender la huida.
