Basada en un telefilm de la ABC del año 1973, la película “No tengas miedo a la oscuridad” nos cuenta la historia de una niña (Bailee Madison) que se muda con su padre (Guy Pearce) y la novia (Katie Holmes) de éste a una casa en la que habitan unas criaturas demoníacas. Cuando la pequeña las descubre, primero sentirá cierta fascinación por ellas, pero luego comprobará lo peligrosas que son.

Based on true events, 'Alex: The Life of a Child' follows former 'Sports Illustrated' writer Frank Deford and his wife Carole when their happy, all-American family is rocked to the core when their baby daughter Alex is diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. While CF sufferers were almost certainly doomed to an early death in the Seventies, Alex grew into a child who showed remarkable courage and strength in face of her illness. Her loving family were quick to rally around her, determined to show the same bravery as the little girl as they supported and cherished her through life and struggled to move on after her death at the tragically young age of eight.

Alex y Sally Farnham se mudan a la casa de la abuela de Sally, quien ha fallecido recientemente. Mientras se encuentran en proceso de reacondicionar la casa, Sally se topa con una chimenea sellada en el estudio de su abuela. Contratando a Mr. Harris, un carpintero que había trabajado en esa casa cuando la abuela de Sally la habitaba, le piden que derribe el sello. Pero Harris le advierte que algunas cosas deben quedarse como están. Sally comienza a percibir voces que provienen de la chimenea. Finalmente Sally consigue que la chimenea sea demolida, sin saber que ha liberado un portal donde moran unos pequeños demonios, que comienzan a deambular por la casa, y quieren apoderarse de Sally a toda costa.
