Hace diez años Tae-sik era un ganster que mandaba en la ciudad. Ahora tras salir de la cárcel, Tae-sik vuelve a casa totalmente reconvertido. Mientras estaba en prisión su madre le regalo un diario en el que apuntar sus propósitos, siendo "no beber, no pelear, no llorar" los primeros. En su vuelta a casa lo único que quiere hacer es pasar desapercibido, pero su fantasmas del pasado vuelven a aparecer, cuando un antiguo rival, ahora alcalde, quiere expropiar el restaurante de su madre para poder llevar acabo un ambicioso proyecto urbanístico.
