Heintje Vaar
A young girl called Annetje Lie is staying with her grandmother for an undisclosed period after her father unceremoniously dropped her off and left. At night, Annetje disappears into a dream world in which her friend the Moon transports her back to her elderly home. There she gets into all sorts of nightmarish adventures with the King of Mice and the mysterious Heintje Vaar. Meanwhile, her grandmother is beginning to suspect Annetje might be seriously ill.

Una gata curiosa mete la nariz en donde no debe y se convierte en mujer, Minoes. Ella conserva algunas características felinas: puede hablar con los gatos, tiene pasión por las sardinas y prefiere lamerse en lugar de bañarse. Sus recorridos por los tejados la llevan hasta lo de un joven periodista, Tibbe, al que le da mucha vergüenza entrevistar a las personas, tiene miedo de perder su empleo y necesita ayuda en sus investigaciones. Gracias a las habilidades de Minoes, descubren que el presidente del club de amigos de los animales no es tan amable como parece y tiene planes maléficos para el pueblo. Los gatos saben mucho acerca de los secretos de quienes viven en ese pequeño pueblo en donde aparentemente no sucede.
