La testaruda Kenza vive con su padre Ouira y su abuelo Weljo en un patio de demolición de autos en el campo de Curazao. Los dos hombres son opuestos que no atraen particularmente: Ouira es un oficial de policía decidido y racional, mientras que Weljo se identifica con los habitantes originales y la espiritualidad de la isla.
