La Navidad nos trae una serie de temáticas clásicas en las películas, y la pelicula Las Aventuras de K-9: Un Cuento de Navidad no lo puede ser más, ya que mezcla a un perro adoptado, con una gala benéfica y unos ladrones. La película comienza con Kassie, una chica que decide adoptar a un perro retirado de la policía. Estos perros dejan de ser útiles cuando llegan a cierta edad, y se dan en adopción a los ciudadanos. Como es Navidad, Kassie y sus amigos han decidido organizar un concierto benéfico, para ayudar a los más necesitados, pero no cuentan con que unos ladrones se hayan enterado y planean robarles todo el dinero. Aquí es donde entra Scoot, el perro policía, que aunque está retirado aún cuenta con las habilidades suficientes para proteger el dinero del concierto y atrapar a los ladrones, los cuales parece que tienen poco espíritu navideño y sólo buscan su propio beneficio.
