El estigma del mal nos cuenta la historia de un profesor que utiliza métodos pocos ortodoxos, que llevarán a los mejores alumnos de su clase a participar en un peligroso experimento: deberán crear un poltergeist. Los nuevos científicos se basarán en la teoría de que la actividad paranormal es causada por la energía negativa del ser humano, para ello no dudarán en hacer experimentos con una joven. Debido a sus ensayos una serie de aterradores acontecimientos empiezan a sucederse, por lo que se darán cuenta de que han desencadenado una espeluznante fuerza incontrolable.
