La historia de la lucha de Sonbai, una mujer por mantener su honor cuando es amenazada por un poderoso inspector fiscal. El inspector, enojado cuando es rechazado por Sonbai, promete destrozar el pueblo si ella no vuelve con él. Para evitar ser violada por él, se refugia en una fábrica de especias. El guardia de la fábrica, Abu, cierra la puerta e impide que entren los soldados, hombres fieles al alcalde y el propio inspector. Irritado, asegura que si no le devuelven a Sonbai, destrozará el pueblo.

This would rob over 100,000 people of a living. The film analyzes the critical situation, and on the basis of concrete facts and figures, questions whether such a step would be fruitful at all. The image of a man pulling a man is a depressing and a negative one - but not more negative than that of the image of a man going without food.
