En Hope I, una central de investigaciones químicas, ocurre un grave accidente cuando un líquido de extraordinaria potencia se dispersa, causando la muerte a todos los componentes del equipo de la central. Este macabro suceso es seguido de un inexplicable y terrible fenómeno: científicos y técnicos del equipo de investigadores que han encontrado la muerte vuelven a vivir bajo la forma de zombies.
