After the death of Yanek’s father, his mother, whom he hasn’t seen for years, visits him and makes claims on the flat where he and his father lived. He meets his stepbrother Norberth, who insists on staying with him. During a quarrel, Yanek’s finger gets cut-off. His mother visits him in the hospital and follows him home...

Segunda Guerra Mundial. Corre el año 1941 y los judíos de Europa Oriental están siendo masacrados a millares. En la Bielorrusia ocupada, tres hermanos logran escapar de una muerte segura y se refugian en los densos bosques de alrededor de su casa, que conocen desde su infancia. Allí inician su desesperada lucha contra los nazis. Su lucha se convertirá en algo mucho más importante, una forma de vengar las muertes de sus seres queridos al salvar a miles de personas.

The Hijacker lands the plane at the Rīga Airport. 7 year-old Tom, travelling on his own, voluntarily becomes a hostage. Along with the traditional demands, the Hijacker adds the demands of the little hostage – beginning with some local chocolate and a self-instruction tape for learning the native language, and ending with organizing a Song Festival and a special biathletes’ performance – all ideas originating from a CD on Latvia.
