Corre el año 1780 y un grupo de esclavos huye de una hacienda de caña de azúcar, buscando hallar un cumbe. Los persigue Don Manuel Aguirre, obsesionado hacendado que ha fijado su mirada en Azú, la hermosa esclava con un destino ancestral.
