Una pareja de mediana edad, Eun-ju y Heung-ju, visitan el templo Cheongpyeong en Chuncheon, 30 años después de su primer encuentro nocturno. Volviendo del templo, Eunju descubre que ha perdido su teléfono. Heung-ju pretende ayudarla a buscarlo al día siguiente, pero descubre que ella ha ido por su cuenta. A medida que avanza la noche de invierno, ambos deambularán por el templo y se encontrarán casualmente con otras personas –desde amigos hasta antiguos amantes–, incluida una joven pareja demasiado parecida a ellos mismos hace 30 años.

Upon the retirement of the father, who has been a teacher at Cheorwon Technical High School, mother, two sons and daughters-in-law gather in Cheorwon. The retirement ceremony is rather quiet, and father drops the bombshell at a Chinese restaurant while eating. When he announces he will get a divorce, mother is so angry she doesn’t know what to say, and the sons and daughters-in-law are confused. Heavy snow hits Cheorwon keeping the buses from operating, and the family start an awkward time at the father’s residence.
