Sonia conoce Roberto, una actor desahuciado y con pocos días de vida. Ambos se enamoran. Poco después un policía llega buscando a Sonia, pero éste es interceptado por una condesa, quien lo distrae y con quien pasa el año nuevo jugando póquer, situación que Roberto y Sonia aprovechan para huir. Sin embargo, al subir a la avioneta en la que escaparán Roberto sufre un infarto. Sonia es capturada y condenada a morir en la silla eléctrica por asesinato, pero conserva la alegría de reunirse con Roberto en el más allá.
