Basada en una obra clásica china acerca de un huérfano que vengará la muerte de su familia. La historia gira en torno a un médico que salva Zhao Wu, el único miembro superviviente de una familia masacrada, sacrificando a su propio hijo. Zhao, con ayuda del doctor Cheng Ying, buscará vengarse de la familia rival y de los asesinos cuando crezca. La obra original fue publicada por primera vez en la dinastía Yuan (1271-1368), pero posteriormente fue adaptada por el escritor francés Voltaire en 1755 como El huérfano de la China.
