Un siniestro policía llamado Murphy, comienza a acosar a un grupo de jóvenes en lo que empieza como un simple juego. En especial se ceba en Jack, pues tuvo enfrentanientos con su padre en el pasado. Cuando al policía le deniegan el tan esperado ascenso por problemas psiquiátricos, le crea un conflicto interno y descarga su frustración en los jóvenes. Lo que había empezado como una especie de juego, se convierte en una noche de terror cuando los jóvenes advierten que Murphy quiere acabar con sus vidas como un auténtico psicópata.
