Larry, que tras ser despedido de su trabajo, con la ayuda de su amigo, las regañinas de su abuela y su amor por el alcohol, intenta encontrar un trabajo estable. Al final termina como técnico de Quick Lube y termina enamorándose de su jefa. Para esta tarea cuenta con la compañía de Tunde Adebimpe, Olympia Dukakis y Eleanore Pienta.
