Historia
Leopoldo Torres Ríos was an Argentine film director, one of the pioneers of Argentine cinema. He directed 37 films, between 1923 and 1959, including three silent films. He was characterized by his intimate gaze and his rejection of openly commercial films. He was also a photographer, tango lyricist and journalist. He was the father of the iconic film director Leopoldo Torre Nilsson.

Fortunato, un hombre joven que se casa con doña Fulgencia, que soporta muchos problemas al lado de su marido. Luego, una banda de personas, secuestran a Fortunato, Fulgencia y a don Aquiles, para así poder quitarles aun más dinero. Anteriormente, Fortunato logra gastar todo el dinero que le había dado su esposa, y estos terminan en la ruina. Después, Fortunato, Doña Fulgencia y Aquiles, no tienen donde ir a vivir y paran en un único lugar, donde tienen una vivienda, una casa abandonada, sucia y muy antigua.
