Un chico trata de salvar la vida de una cría de águila que se ha caído de su nido. Todo comienza cuando un águila cría dos polluelos. El destino del más fuerte es arrojar al más débil desde el nido. También el hombre también tiene sus costumbres y a menudo hace daño a los que más quiere. Lukas sufre a manos de un padre, encerrado en sí mismo desde la pérdida de su esposa. Does Georg really see the man or is this a mere hallucination? Is he becoming insane or is he more alert to the dangers of the world than the common man?

But he is held up by a breakdown. By the time he arrives, his girlfriend has already left. Longing to see her he lingers on, and while he passes the time he experiences moments of unexpected delight. His waiting turns into a voyage of indulgence. His longing grows and tantalizes.

A man and a woman meet. In the confusion of their short encounter they fail to give their names and exchange addresses. They go back to living their lives without the prospect of seeing each other again.
From then on, the dream of true love interrupts the sober routine of their daily lives.
Their longing for love increases and draws them back to the place where they met - and they barely miss noticing each other there. In the turmoil of the city in which they live there are moments when they just fail to run into each other by chance. Their short meeting has transformed their lives as well as their dreams. Perhaps they will find true love when they least expect to find it.

On the basis of the hardy perennial "boss-assistant" relation, "The Mortal Fortune" depicts the passion of worldly existence.
The anonymous hero of the story, to which the spectator is introduced, attempts at freeing himself from his enslaved life. He finally has to realize the transience of the creature man and whithdraws from the constraints of worldly existence.
Production Design
Josef "Schmutz" (german for "dirt"), a security guard obsessed with duty and cleanliness, is given the task of guarding a decommissioned industrial plant. While maintaining his devotion to the authority of property right, the self-proclaimed "Representative of Ownership" is himself slowly losing his sense of reality.
