El 8 de Febrero del año 2000, Robert Stewart, un joven violento y racista, ingresa en el centro de menores Feltham Young Offenders Institute. Allí, se le asigna la misma celda que a Zahid Mubarek, un joven asiático encerrado por hurto al que sólo le quedan seis semanas para cumplir su condena por hurto. Esas seis semanas permitirán a la desequilibrada y racista mente de Stewart convertirle en el monstruo que siempre quiso ser, convirtiendo la vida de su compañero de celda en un auténtico infierno.
