'The Skeleton Dance', o más conocida como 'La danza del Esqueleto' en Hispanoamérica, es un corto animado de las Silly Symphonies de Disney creado en el año 1929. Fue producido y también dirigido por Walt Disney, y fue animado por Ub Iwerks. En el corto, un grupo de esqueletos bailan y crean música en un tenebroso cementerio; los esqueletos usan el sónido de los árboles y de los animales para acompañar su baile. Fue además el primero de la serie Silly Symphonies de Walt Disney. Las notas musicales fueron creadas por Carl Stalling, que luego crearía la música de otros cortos de Disney. Mucha gente quedó impresionada con 'The Skeleton Dance' debido a que los personajes no hablaban.

Mickey Mouse está manejando un barco de vapor, hasta que llega Pete y lo echa de la sala de controles. Segundo cortometraje protagonizado por Mickey (tras su debut en "Plane Crazy") y primero con sonido sincronizado. De hecho, aunque ya hubo intentos anteriores por parte de los Fleisher, "Steamboat Willie" está considerado como el primer trabajo de animación con sonido sincronizado de la historia del cine.
