Damien Nadeau-Daneau, a young filmaker, is unable to finish a movie he started with french actor Denis Lavant. Indebted, he’s working at a post-production company, far from his artistic ideals. On the eve of his 33rd birthday, he is self-centered, unsatisfied, and lost in his own life. With no drama of his own, he is confronted with that of others who he meets over the course of his life. He will discover that reality is way more interesting than fiction.

Mathieu tiene 33 años y vive con la incógnita de no haber conocido a su padre. Su madre siempre le dijo que fue fruto de una aventura de una noche. Una mañana, en su apartamento de París, recibe una llamada de Canadá de un desconocido que dice ser amigo de su padre y le informa de que éste ha fallecido, y que le quiere enviar lo que aparentemente le ha dejado en herencia: un cuadro. También le dice que tiene dos hermanos. Movido por la curiosidad, decide viajar a Montreal para conocer a esa parte de su familia que vive allí, que no serán, ni mucho menos, los que Mathieu esperaba.

After an hockey game in Lac St-Jean, the National climbs into their bus and begins the long ride from Roberval to Quebec City. On one of the sharp curves around Mount Apica, catastrophe strikes. The bus slams into the mountain and half the players dies. Now the team faces its greatest challenge: rebuilding.

Se basa en los testimonios de los supervivientes del drama ocurrido en la Escuela politécnica de Montreal, el 6 de diciembre de 1989. La película cuenta los hechos a través de los ojos de Valérie y Jean-François, dos estudiantes cuya vida dio un vuelco cuando un hombre entró en la escuela con la idea de asesinar al mayor número de mujeres posible.
