La historia gira en torno a una periodista llamada Sara (Monaghan) que padece de agorafobia que es acosada en su propio apartamento por el personaje de Keaton, un ladrón que sospecha que en el interior del mismo hay una fortuna escondida en diamantes. Aunque Sara no sabe dónde están los diamantes, el ladrón utilizará la tortura tanto psicológica como física para intentar llegar a ellos, aunque la chica se defenderá con uñas y dientes.
