In a world full of fear, where love is slowly drifting away and becoming something unreachable, we come across unfortunate people, such as Rasha and his demanding sick father. Living on the edge of existence during pre-apocalyptic time, he becomes a guard of an old hotel, and stumbles upon strange characters with whom he shares misfortune.

Más que un difícil momento familiar, esta situación conlleva otra de naturaleza política y religiosa: hay que dar los últimos sacramentos al abuelo con un cura ortodoxo y enterrarlo en un cementerio situado en territorio "enemigo". Y es que la familia vive en un enclave serbio cristiano en medio de una gran comunidad albanesa musulmana en unas condiciones difíciles marcadas por los trayectos en vehículos blindados bajo la protección de la comunidad internacional, los cortes de electricidad, los robos de ganado y los desplazamientos por el enclave serbio en carros de caballos.
