THIS.IS.PROGRESS is a documentary exploring the inner workings of the UK's leading, independent wrestling promotion, PROGRESS Wrestling. On September 25th at the O2 Academy Brixton, PROGRESS organised one of the largest independent shows the UK has seen for a decade. This film charts the build-up to (and including) that momentous day in front of 2,500 people. Told from the perspective of their promoters, wrestlers and fans, THIS.IS.PROGRESS charts the companies ascension to the heady heights of the UK wrestling scene whilst dissecting what makes their company stand out as one of the most exciting promotions not just in the UK, but the world.

After the success of PROGRESS’ biggest show ever at the Brixton Academy, they return to the more humble setting of the Ritz in Manchester to begin a new phase of their existence. We’re now on the road to Orlando, PROGRESS’ next ‘big show’, but before then, new champions Mark Haskins, Rampage Brown and British Strong Style must be cemented, and several new faces must be debuted. This show feels like a fresh start for the promotion after some strong but fairly stagnant cards in the build-up to Brixton. Who will stand out now that there are more opportunities open at the top of the card?

Back to PROGRESS now, and we go back six months for November 2015’s show: Chapter 23 – What A Time To Be Alive! There are no old men thawing out of a freezer here, but we do have a rare event which included a pre-show, and that match that broke the ring… in the main show opener, too!
and we’re back to Camden’s Electric Ballroom for PROGRESS Chapter 22 from October 2015, and the overly-titled “Trust, Encouragement, Reward, Loyalty, Satisfaction”. If that sounds familiar, it might be because you’re a fan of a British comedy… We open up with a spoof of a scene from the British version of The Office, featuring the GZRS’ Tom Irvin in the role of David Brent.
