Soria, un joven inexperto en busca de un futuro mejor, se une a dos famosos bandoleros que tienen por objetivo robar el banco de Bariloche. Pronto se da cuenta de que cometió el peor error de su vida al unirse a la banda y es obligado a matar por primera vez. Los rencores y miserias de los tres los llevan por caminos diferentes a los planeados. Un tenaz comisario acostumbrado a tomar la justicia por su propia mano comienza a buscarlos. La banda se ve entonces envuelta en una persecución policial que los arrastra hasta sus propios límites.

Overava, which in Guaraní means shiny, makes reference to the treasures hidden underground in Paraguay in the mid-19th century, during the Triple Alliance War. According to folk tales, the owners of these valuables never unearthed them because they were cruelly killed during the war. However, their greed condemned their spirits to keeping watch over them. Lights, trees with blue flames, headless dogs and white animals show up at night during bad weather. Everyone knows about the legend, many have seen the ghosts, some treasure hunters go out every night searching for the gold that is hidden only a few feet deep, but few know the secret of how to create an emphatic connection with the former owners to get them to hand over the treasures.

Un viaje por los recuerdos se inicia en la detenida estación central del ferrocarril, con una mirada orgullosa hacia lo que éste alguna vez fue. Avanza por el viejo tendido de vías, donde lugares desolados revelan un secreto; el ferrocarril aún sigue vivo, en sus objetos, en sus espacios y sobre todo en la gente. Pequeñas anécdotas relatadas por ex-ferroviarios, vendedoras, niños, vecinos y pasajeros, proponen en un relato coral, un humanizado personaje del tren, que toma agua, grita y se va poniendo viejo.
