Ana Cristina Barragán
Historia
Ana Cristina Barragán is an Ecuadorian filmmaker (1987). She made her first short film when she was only 20 years old. She has directed three short films: Despierta/Awake (2008), Domingo violeta/Violet Sunday (2010), Anima/Spirit (2013). Awake was screened at several international film festivals. Domingo violeta premiered at the Locarno festival. Alba (2016), her feature film debut, won the Lions Films Award at Rotterdam, the Jury Mention at San Sebastian, and several other international awards.

Iris and Ariel are 17-year-old twins, who live with their mother and older sister in an old house in the middle of a rocky island covered with molluscs and birds. The teenagers have grown up isolated from the mainland, in a sibling relationship that surpasses the limits of normal intimacy. The abrupt absence of their mother deeply wounds the three siblings, and Iris, moved by a strong need of separating herself from her brother, decides to go alone to the city for the first time.

As time goes by, the truth begins to unfold, and the intentions of each of the characters engages them in unexpected carnal desires. All this happens around Sara's blindness.
