Buster es un koala que posee y dirige un gran teatro que está pasando por un momento muy delicado. Para arreglar la situación y recuperar la gloria perdida, organizará el concurso de canto más grande del mundo, que atrae a multitud de animales que buscan convertirse en estrellas. Entre ellos encontramos a un bromista y arrogante ratón, una elefanta adolescente que tiene pánico escénico, una cerda que padece estrés debido a su camada de 25 lechones, un joven gorila proveniente de una familia de gánsteres y una puercoespín que tiene su propia banda de rock alternativo.
