Tras salir de prisión, Yiorgos regresa a Atenas con la intención de rehacer su vida, sin imaginar que en su camino se encontrará con Strella, una prostituta transexual y cantante de cabaret, mezcla de María Callas y Cher. El buen corazón de Strella gana el amor del protagonista, sin saber que el destino revelará un nexo desconocido entre ambos. Los bajos fondos de Atenas enmarcan esta transgresora historia de amor con reminiscencias mitológicas de la antigua Grecia.
