Anything is possible in Warsaw rising from the war rubble in 1953. The omnipresent uncertainty, denunciations, and the sense of constant surveillance are tamed with the help of vodka and good company. A renowned writer, Mister T. lives in a hotel for authors and makes a living by giving extra lessons. One day, a young countryside man moves into the next-door flat with big dreams of working as a journalist. Mister T. becomes his mentor and teacher. The pace of the protagonist's life quickens once the authorities begin to suspect him of an evil wish to blow up the Palace of Culture and Science, and Secret Police agents start to watch every move he makes. It is hard to stay serious in this ridiculous reality.
Production Design
A big shot prosecutor Teodor Szacki divorces his wife and leaves Warsaw to “start a new life” in picturesque town in southeast Poland Sandomierz. After a short while he is called in to investigate a strange and mysterious murder case. Alienated in provincial reality he struggles to find a killer, when he stumbles upon more victims. While the investigation continues he realizes that all murders are connected to alleged historical Jewish ritual killings. Those murders prompt a wave of antiSemitic hysteria in the town. In his investigation Szacki must wrestle with the painful tangle of PolishJewish relations and real findings of his work that roots of some legends arefantasy, not a grain of truth…
Production Design
A story about women, set in the present and in 1950s Warsaw. Sabina, a quiet, shy woman who has just turned thirty lacks a man in her life. Her mother knows all about it and tries at all costs to find her daughter a good candidate for a husband. The whole situation is controlled by the grandmother, an eccentric lady with a sharp tongue from whom no secrets can be kept.
Art Direction
Segunda Guerra Mundial (1939-1945). Un matrimonio judío, para evitar que su hijo caiga en manos de los nazis, decide trasladarlo al campo, donde es acogido por una familia de campesinos católicos. (FILMAFFINITY)
Set Decoration
Tomek es un joven de 19 años obsesionado con Magda, una mujer treintañera a la que espía cada tarde con unos prismáticos. Ella vive su vida de manera muy liberal, sin prejuicios, invitando a su casa a innumerables hombres. Tomek, enamorado y celoso, decide trabajar como repartidor de leche para así poder estar más cerca de Magda y a su vez interrumpir sus citas amorosas. Un día Tomek decide explicar la verdad a Magda y declararle su amor, pero descubrirá que el amor no es un juego tan sencillo como él creia
