A former war photographer tries to ward off his personal ghosts by taking pictures of trees only. He lives alone among olive trees in southern Italy. One day he decides to cross the sea. Once in Albania, he goes near the location where he had made his last war picture, as if he was retracing his steps. He finds a tree he wants to photograph. He is just about to do so, when he discovers a runaway girl hiding in it with the sole objective of crossing the sea and getting to the other side. The man has no choice. He has to flee with her, follow her and guide her along until a storm separates them.

Living in the West Bank of Palestine, a filmmaker suffering from chronic headaches consults a psychologist in pursuit of a cure. After being treated, Raed Andoni is inspired to apply the same cure to his entire war-torn homeland. Andoni's quirky personality and the cast of characters around him lend immediacy and poignancy to the life experiences of everyday Palestinians struggling to endure endless military occupation and economic isolation.

Based on a series of events over the course of one day, Oscar learns that he doesn’t have very long to live. Time has passed without him having noticed or, rather, accepted this fact. Following this brutal realisation and moments filled with doubt and loneliness, Oscar notices that he isn’t really alone.
