On a remote Indonesian island, during the waning days of the colonial era, Dutch sugar plantation owner Jan and his wife Agathe, are at the top of the food chain. That is, until Jan upon returning from his nightly visit to his native concubine Siti, suddenly drops dead in front of his wife. Desperate to keep the privileges of her status quo, Agathe forces her estranged son Cornelis and his heavily pregnant wife Josefien, to travel from Europe and take over the family business. In the midst of a worker’s uprising, Cornelis displays his plans for progressive change. But when Jan’s will puts Siti at the forefront of the family estate, ideals prove to be idle and blood thicker than water.

The 30-minute Perempuan Tana Humba is a much more straightforward documentary, focusing more on Sumba culture and women in three short chapters: “Marapu”, “Belis” and “Perkawinan”.

But Ratna manages to hide in a cave. Then she finds a long haired man sleeping with a leopard. Unexpectedly, the unkempt man is kind but he does not understand human language. Suddenly the man hits his chest four times and then says "Tarzan". Tarzan then takes Ratna back home to the city on a horse. Arde, who has changed his name to Mamahi (shortened from Master Mata Hitam or Master with Dark Eye), discovers Tarzan’s arrival in the city.

But there, their friendship and dreams are tested with a permissive lifestyle, and the AIDS epidemic that afflicts young Papuans. Their life journey also took them to different directions and places, from Papua to Jakarta, where a meeting with a musician made Litius search again for the lost friendship.
