En 1936, los Wollners, una familia de inmigrantes alemanes que viven en Town Creek (Maryland), reciben instrucciones del Tercer Reich para hacer de anfitriones del Profesor Richard Wirth. La familia, que necesita dinero, acepta la propuesta. Lo que ignoran es que formarán parte de un experimento que implica el aislamiento del resto del mundo y que tendrán que participar en un juego de supervivencia. En 2007, los hermanos Wollners, tras huir de sus captores, vuelven a Town Creek para vengarse.
