Las vivencias de una mujer criada en el barrio puertorriqueño de Nueva York que llega a Puerto Rico a recibir una casa en herencia que está enclavada en Barceloneta y escuda en su "latin English" la realidad de su falta de identificación cultural. Estas causas la llevan a crear un choque de aceptación con los vecinos de su barrio.

Doris is a hardworking and honest woman, divorced and mother of two teenagers whom she adores but doesn’t understand. After a bad relationship with her husband, she no longer trusts men. She lives only for her children, but they’re living their own lives. One day, Doris learns that things can get better.
