Rao Bahadur Ramadasu
Ramadasu, a devious zamindar who recently acquired the colonial title of "Rao Bahadur", is a perennial debtor who believes in leading a luxurious life on credit. His shrewd, schizophrenic manager Bhaja Govindam placates angry creditors with false promises. Dewan Bahadur Mukunda Rao, a wealthy, generous zamindar, is searching for a royal bridegroom for his granddaughter Manjari. Ramadasu plans to marry his son Raghu, a doctor practising in London, to Manjari to pay his debts. Unbeknownst to his father, though, Raghu has married a woman named Leela.
Shakuni
Balarama promises Subhadra to get his daughter married to her son. However, when he loses his kingdom to the Kauravas, Balarama has no choice but to break his promise.
Lakshmi is a child orphaned by the death of her parents lives in the house of her uncle. Her aunt (Suryakantam) loves her daughter Kathyayani (Janaki) and neglects and harass Lakshmi. Hence she goes to her grandfather's house. Her grandfather also dies, forcing her to go back to the uncle's house. Once the marriage proposal for Kathyayani turns towards Lakshmi. Taking the blame of her aunt, she left home and reaches Tirupathi to commit suicide.

Sagaraiah

Zamindar of Durgapuram
Landlord Narayan Rao's son Devdasu and Parvathi, their poor neighbour's daughter, fall in love. But Devadas's family does not approve of the relationship.
The son of the gardener Thota Raamudu (NTR) falls in love with the princess of Ujjain (Malathi). When he faces resistance from the king, he approaches a Sorcerer (SVR), who actually plans to sacrifice this young, brave lad to the goddess Patala Bhairavi (Girija) to attain the magic statuette, which would grant any wish. Raamudu finds about this plan and sacrifices the sorcerer and obtains Paataala Bhairavi.
Rakkin Prabhu
Khayas falls in love with Laila but her father refuses the alliance, which leaves Khayas heartbroken. Things take a turn when Laila then moves to Mecca.
