El policía forense Paul Herzfeld encuentra dentro de un cadáver una cápsula metálica que contiene una serie de dígitos y el nombre de su hija. Al llamarle para comprobar qué está pasando, esta le pide auxilio, pues ha sido raptada por un asesino en serie sediento de juegos macabros. Aquí empieza una carrera contrarreloj para Paul en afán de rescatar a su hija.
