In a flight of the satirical whimsy so typical of G&S, two happy-go-lucky gondoliers discover that one of them is, in fact, heir to the throne of a distant kingdom. True to their (adopted) Republican roots, they set off together to rule in idealistic, if somewhat chaotic, style... Director Stuart Maunder, Artistic Director at State Opera South Australia, teams up with designer Dick Bird (The Mikado 2016) to stage a production that is fast, furious and full of fun.
THE UNITED GRAND LODGE OF ENGLAND CELEBRATED ITS EPIC TERCENTENARY CELEBRATION AT THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL IN 2017. Over 4,000 Freemasons from Provinces and Districts were joined by representatives from over 130 sovereign Grand Lodges from around the world to mark 300 years since the founding of the world’s first Grand Lodge for Freemasons. The audience witnessed a theatrical extravaganza which embraced the rich history and heritage of Freemasonry and featured a cast of renowned actors including Sir Derek Jacobi, Samantha Bond and Sanjeev Bhaskar.

ENO revival of the classic Gilbert and Sullivan operetta. Nanki-Poo loves Yum-Yum but she’s betrothed to Ko-Ko, the new Lord High Executioner. When the Mikado orders a beheading, Nanki-Poo and Ko-Ko try to come to an arrangement that doesn’t involve anyone losing their head!
