Cuba, 1983. Santa es una campesina de treinta años que trabaja en una granja estatal. Andrés es un escritor homosexual de cincuenta años que, según el gobierno, tiene “problemas ideológicos”. Como es habitual con los desafectos a la revolución, cada vez que hay un evento político en la zona, alguien es enviado para echarle un ojo y evitar que cometa algún acto de oposición pública. Esta vez la tarea de vigilar le toca a Santa. Durante tres días consecutivos Santa se sienta en la entrada de la cabaña de Andrés para supervisar cada uno de sus movimientos.
